Aaaaavocado Toast

Yes, the hype may be over, but the beauty and versatility of this breakfast/brunch staple makes it a special treat for any occasion. This version is using home-made, freshly milled soft white wheat flour, oats, flax and sesame seeds to give this a wonderful crunch/chew and flavor. Stay tuned for #annarchiebreads recipes on various beloved sourdoughs. Of course you are welcome to use any toasted bread that makes your heart sing!

Ingredients

  • 1 slice toasted sourdough or bread of your choice.

  • 1 tbsp of hummus (I use oil free, home made sundried tomato hummus)

  • 1 tsp hemp seed or flax meal (optional)

  • 1/4 cup packed sprouts (broccoli and alfalfa is one of my favorite combinations)

  • sliced tomato

  • 1/4-1/2 (depending on your preference) of perfectly ripe avocado

  • Optional topping: Everything-But-The-Bagel Seasoning and homemade fermented hot sauce

Needless to say, arugula, spinach, cucumber, bell pepper, and any other toppings can be used or substituted here.

 

Method

  • Toast your favorite bread!

  • Slice and prep all needed or chosen toppings

  • Assemble

  • Devour!

  • Top with Everything but the Bagel seasoning and/or hot sauce on top. Enjoy!
