Easy tofu marinade

This has been my go-to marinade for 9+ years. If you want to turn tofu into something that you want to keep eating on it's own, make this quick marinate, and marinate your tofu for at least 10 minutes or overnight.


Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of liquid amino or soy sauce

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp of dried ginger powder

  • 1 tbsp of rice vinegar, mirin or lime juice (if using lime juice, also add the zest!)

  • Optional: 1 tsp of agave syrup or raw cane sugar2

  • Optional: 1 tsp of smoke powder or liquid smoke

  • 1 block of extra firm or firm tofu (cut to your liking)







 


Method

  • Mix all ingredients together either in a 1/2 gallon zip lock bag or in a Tupperware container.

  • Add sliced or diced or broken up tofu pieces to the marinate and keep in marinate for at least 10 minutes ideally an hour or overnight.

  • Either airfry tofu at 400°F for 20–30 minutes, turning half-way through, or bake it on a baking sheet at the same temperature for 40 minutes or until crisp on the outside, turning half-way through.

  • Use in the following recipes: Stir-fry Noodles or Pineapple Fried Rice
