If you haven't tried shishitos yet, these delectable mild peppers will change your life. They cook up quickly and can be eaten whole with seeds straight from the stem. 1 in 14 may be spicy, but oh are they worth it.
Ingredients
1 pound of shishitos, washed
1 tsp of oil (optional) or 1 tsp of aqua faba
1 tsp salt
1-1.5 tsp of honey or agave or maple sirup
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
Method
Prep the peppers into a large bowl, toss with lubricant of choice (oil or aqua faba) and salt.
Place in air fryer (if you have one) at 400°F or on a lined baking sheet in a 425°F oven for 10 minutes, turn and keep crisping up for another 10 minutes or until blistered.
Finish by putting into a bowl, sprinkling sweetener of choice, sesame and possibly another sprinkle of salt and toss until equally coated. Serve while hot!
Notes
These are (you guessed it!) another favorite in our house. Addictive until the last bite.
